Bandleader Reid Griffin sings soulful lead vocals and plays the guitar with driving rhythm and beautiful pickin’ solos. A Tucson native, Reid has performed since the 1970s throughout the Southwest. He toured Europe in the 1980’s, delighting audiences with his band “Griffin Brothers” before establishing himself as a performer and teacher back home in Tucson. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, Reid always brings a powerful enthusiasm to the stage.
Fiddler Bob Frankot can bring the house down with a rousing hoedown, lend soulful depth to tender ballads, and deliver smooth baritone vocals. He studied with trailblazing fiddler Richard Greene and renowned jazz violinist Tim Kliphuis. He previously played with iconic California bluegrass band Hot Off the Press, James Reams and the Barnstormers, and Hillbilly Fever.
Steve Reed’s upright bass provides the band’s rhythmic heartbeat, complemented by his excellent harmony vocals. Steve started on trumpet at a young age, then soon added bass to his repertoire. Majoring in music at Pima College, he has played in classical orchestras, jazz big bands, Mariachi, rock, worship bands, and now bluegrass.
Banjoman Tommy Pfaff has loved to play banjo since childhood in the Midwest. First strumming Dixieland jazz then picking bluegrass five-string in many bands over many years, his love for bluegrass banjo continues to burn brightly. That love is evidenced in his unique style: playful, upbeat, and joyful.
